NEW CITYSCAPE SERIES
This is a new series of watercolors painted from photographs I have taken in Boston.
I have always been interesed in cityscapes and have taken a lot of photos when I travel. It took a while to figure out just how to interpret these interesting scenes using their complicated structures, strong value changes and colors.
As I continue this series I will be posting the images.

Painting up a storm
It seems I've been painting up a storm or Roadside (see new work on right). I've used illustration board for this paiting and it's been a while since I've painted on board. I think I like Cheap Joe's Kilimajaro better.
I've taken a wonderful gelatin Workshop and it's inspired me to work in book form. So far so good but, it's still "books in progress". I am making great pages and hope to have a finished book or four very soon. It's a very abstract project and great fun.

This Week
Time flies when you're having fun. Getting ready for some Juried Shows and deciding what to enter is always difficult. I am going to try a monotype and watercolor for the first show (judged by originals)and then only Watercolors for the next 2 shows.
Fresh Paint Gallery is starting to get more visitors each day and we are gearing up for a wonderful summer in our new Barn "home". Newsletters go out this week and we are looking forward to seeing old and new customers in this bright charming space. We have a tour online at www.freshpaintgalleryonline.com visit us.

City Series
Painting is often very challenging and not an easy task. It took a long time to be satisfied with the interpretation of the series. I felt it needed a strong gritty look and watercolor crayons did the trick. The strength of the compostion is the key to these cityscapes. Can you tell I am enjoying this challenge?
